Kratom is a unique tree that is loaded with numerous benefits. These benefits can vary from tree to tree and even leaf to leaf. If you're reading this you probably have either experienced or want to experience these benefits. In this post we will give you some tips so that you can get the most out of your kratom. In order to make your same dose more potent you can add something called a potentiator to it. Potentiators are something that you take in conjunction with your kratom, these help your body assimilate the active alkaloids, in theory making the effects you feel more pronounced. Here is a list of kratom potentiators.
1.) Grapefruit- This can be consumed either as a whole fruit or as a juice. Grapefruit contains enzymes which helps the body break down kratom, this means that the alkaloids in kratom will be broken down more allowing the effects to be stronger and longer lasting. Kratom powder can also be mixed in with a glass of grapefruit juice to help mask the taste, better taste and stronger, win, win! While grapefruit is the most popular any other citrus fruit can be used in the same way as well.
2.)Turmeric- Turmeric can come in a few different forms, one of the most common is the powdered form. This spice is the same consistency as kratom powder so the two can easily be mixed together. Not only will you get the benefits that turmeric holds by itself, you will also get a longer lasting kratom while also helping to reduce your tolerance to kratom.
3.) Black Pepper- Black pepper helps in the absorption of turmeric, so the two are best taken together. Adding a little black pepper to a turmeric and kratom mixture can vastly increase the absorption of these powders creating a potent, longer lasting effect than taking kratom alone, while also helping keep your tolerance down.
4.) Cayenne Pepper- Cayenne is a spicy chili pepper that is commonly used to spice up dishes. Cayenne helps with digestion and can aid in the absorption of kratom. Many users report that it does not greatly increase the duration that the effects are felt from kratom but has been noticed to speed up the come on time and intensity of the effects.
5.) Cat's Claw- Cat's claw is a herb that also holds many benefits by itself including anti-inflammatory and pain relieving properties. Combining this herb with kratom can help enhance the effects and duration of kratom.
6.) Watercress- Watercress is a leafy green vegetable that grows near bodies of water. This vegetable packs a powerful punch of nutrients, providing anyone who consumes it a variety of health benefits. Along with these benefits it can also be taken with kratom to help aid in the duration that kratom is felt and in some cases but not all, people report it helping with the intensity of the effects.
7.) Magnesium- Magnesium is a mineral that is found in many foods. It can be purchased on its own in a powder or capsule though. This mineral has been used to help with calcium deficiency and increase bone health. It is also used to help treat migraines, headaches, constipation, anxiety and promote sleep. Another benefit is that it helps reduce your tolerance to kratom. Keep in mind that magnesium promotes a calm and relaxing feeling, so if taking a white vein for energy, magnesium may not be your go to.
8.) Valerian Root- Valerian root can be taken in a pill, tincture or steeped into a tea. Valerian root has been used for centuries to help with sleep as well as promote relaxation and relieve anxiety. This can help compliment a red strain by making the effects of each more pronounced.
As always start with a small dose and see how your body reacts. If you are new to kratom it is recommended to try kratom first by itself so that you know the effects that it produces before adding anything that may intensify those effects. Keep an eye out as we may make some capsule blends with added potentiators in them!
These potentiators are based solely on personal experience and the experiences of others and have not been evaluated by a medical professional. Kratom is not FDA approved and this article is written solely for informational purposes only.
